Good funk-inflected R&B is very tough to come by. That always makes finding a track like ‘Open Your Eyes’ all that much sweeter, because this track is absolutely fantastic regardless of genre. Well, winter has set in and where I’m at, it’s gloomy, raining and fairly cold. So what better soundtrack for a cold rainy day than ‘Life’s Cornucopia’ from Mason Proper, a soft laid-back song that reminds me at times of Coldplay. It shares the same open space within the music that makes it feel rather otherworldly at times. The kind of song you would throw on when driving along late at night while the lights from the dash illuminate the inside of your car and you find your thoughts drifting off into space. All-in-all exactly what we at Gigatracks look for in a featured artist. This one hits all the right notes.
