It’s been quite some time since we’ve served up a new hip-hop track. Too long really, but we’re going to make up our shortage in quantity with quality. Just check out ‘Whatever’ from Tru Ski, short for True Skills. Talk about a bangin’ track. The sound is thick and the beat is really over the top. And to top it off, this track is about the copyright issues that you run into with sampling.

Now not only is this a really hot track, but it’s released under the Creative Commons license as well, which allows you to trade, share it and yes, even sample it.

It’s also notable that Tru Ski, is not only a killer emcee, but also a multi-instrumentalist on piano, sax, bass and percussion. He’s also a genre-bender, so when you check out his home page, expect to get some Rn’B, Jazz and World sounds fused together in his unique musical vision. Kinda’ reminds of K-OS in that respect.
