Well, winter has set in and where I’m at, it’s gloomy, raining and fairly cold. So what better soundtrack for a cold rainy day than ‘Life’s Cornucopia’ from Mason Proper, a soft laid-back song that reminds me at times of Coldplay. It shares the same open space within the music that makes it feel rather otherworldly at times. The kind of song you would throw on when driving along late at night while the lights from the dash illuminate the inside of your car and you find your thoughts drifting off into space. The melodies pull you in and allow you to come along for the ride. Don’t mistake it for sleepy, and don’t sell it short as psychedelic. It’s more than that, and on a day like today, it’s just perfect.
