All right folks, let’s get a little eclectic. Time to get yourself ready for something a little different. Check out ‘All Night’ from Sam Phillips. Now this track is very hard to describe and definitely doesn’t fall into any particular radio format, but let’s just say that it kicks much ass. Just check out that slow, languid, almost sleazy groove that its got. If that doesn’t pull you in, then nothing will. And her vocals are almost the definition of sultry. The closest artist that I could link to her would be Fiona Apple, except Sam is more accessible and less bizarre. Either way, she has her own dstinct sound and in this day of copycat bands, that is really saying something. So, by now our regular visitors should know that we don’t recommend something just because it’s different. It’s got to be good. And ‘All Night’ fully meets the qualifications. So open your ears, open your mind and enjoy an artist really doing her thing. Post a comment
