R.U.OK, coming to us from New York, have put out a track called ‘We Watched You Walk In’. Delivering a healthy dose of indie rock, they prove that indie rock and good songwriting and melody are not mutually exclusive, despite what many an indie rock band may try to show you. This song has a flavor of Radiohead, due to the singers voice and heavy use of falsetto, but overall, I’d say it’s more along the lines of Placebo and possibly even Vendetta Red.

It’s also worth noting that this song is released under the Creative Commons license, which for those of you who don’t know about this, it’s a copyright license in which the artist gives anyone who downloads the song the right to share, copy, trade and yes, even use it on those evil, evil file-sharing networks that those music industry types hate so much. Kudos to these guys for doing that and letting us all share the goodness.
