Have you ever noticed how well family members’ voices blend together when they sing? No? Never? Okay… I’m a dork then. BUT, that doesn’t change the fact that it’s true. Family members have voices that really blend together well. Take the Partridge family for instance. That was some serious vocal harmonies right? Right?!? Okay ye old skeptics, I’ve got more proof in the form of a father daughter duo known as Better Off Dad, whose harmonies sound like voices from heaven (and nothing like the Partridge family). The daughter, Jaimee, is just a wee 15 years old, but you’ll never be able to tell it in the soulful voice that you hear on this track, called ‘Whimper’. She plays guitar and sports a vocal tone that belies her young years. The dad, Chris, also has a great voice that stands strong when he takes a verse of his own. And the lyrics are also strong and well-written. But what really makes the deal sweet is when they join up for the harmonies. And what sweet, sweet harmonies they are. So check it out and see that I’m not crazy about the family thing. This stands as proof that families can truly make beautiful music together. Post a comment
