Okay, first off, yes it sounds like Evanescence. Now that we got that out of the way, forget that you ever heard of them. Then listen to this track. It’s much better than anything Evanescence has done. After that, you will think of them as a cheap imitation of Damsel Fly who craft a much stronger song. ‘Let You Go’ is a really heavy song that is laced with the beautiful voice of of it’s female singer, whose name I only found as ‘Lisa’. Her ephemeral voice floats above a wall of distortion that gives this song it’s thick sound. There’s beauty and aggression wrapped up into one neat little package, and it makes for great listening. The sound is polished, the production is tight and the song is structured for maximum impact. They also intertwine harmony vocals into the soaring chorus with gives the song that much more depth. So forget Evanescence. You’ve found a much better band with Damsel Fly. Check ‘em out and you’ll be glad that you did. Post a comment
