Here is something different for the electronica fans here. How about some live drums? That is the first thing that grabbed me about ‘Scenic’ by Fascia. It’s an electronic track that uses all acoustic drums and believe me, it sounds very different. That raw and unprocessed sound really gives the track a unique flavor. Once you get past the acoustic drums then you can settle back into a nice groove that really flows. Breaks abound and the synths fill in the depth to keep the song interesting, but it’s all about that groove. ‘Scenic’ has a chilled-out flavor to it that you can kick back, close you eyes and lose yourself in. It’s one of those rare tracks that comands that you stop what you are doing and listen. And when you listen to ti, you realize that it’s pure simplicity. No overwrought, overlayered hyper-kinetic sections where 9 instruments are all playing a different melody. Nope, the focus of ‘Scenic’ is pure simplicity…. and those drums. To quote Oliver Twist, “Please sir, I want some more”.
