Okay party people, Gigatracks is bringing you the exclusive hot butter courtesy of your boy Dante. We’ve managed to get you this fine selection by Nuwamba that you’ll find nowhere else on the web. You can thank my extensive connections and expertise in the blah blah blah [insert toot my own horn obnoxious statements here] blah blah blah….”SHUT UP DANTE!” [says everyone]… uh… sorry. To be honest, I don’t work very hard but sometimes I get lucky and good music just kind of falls into my lap. Nuwamba (pronounced Noo-wom-bay) is getting busy over at Chocolate Soul Entertainment (What up Will G!) and is gearing up to release an album sure to be filled with enough velvety smooth soul to make Maxwell jealous. We give you this sneak-peek of that release with the track “Put It Down”. This tracks starts us off with an acoustic guitar riff that could go in a number of directions but once the beat kicks in we are instantly transported to the back corner of that extra-hip cafe/lounge that we all go to once in a while to chill out and kick it in a major way. This song hits a steady groove and just rides it throughout as Nuwamba croons out the kind of words that can only lead to one thing when the night is over. Awww yeah! Come here suga’ I wanna do what lovers do, PUT IT DOWN! The live feel that this track has is unmistakeable. As the music comes though the speakers it sounds as though Nuwamba and his band are really performing five feet in front of you. So if you want to take a ride out to see some live music but don’t actually want to leave the house this is the track for you. You could easily use this as mood music when ‘you know who’ comes over and you’re trying to get a little ‘you know what’. Thank you, Nuwamba! Post a comment
