Continuing with the recent trend of posting songs that are different from your run of the mill radio tracks, I’ve got a track with an Indian flair and a name that I can’t pronounce, ‘Oro Se Do Bheatha Bhaile’. Go ahead and give that one a shot. No matter how poorly you pronounce it, it’s better than my shot at it. But that’s neither here nor there, because it’s great regardless. I dig the plodding rhythm and the instrumentation that finds a plethora of beautiful melodies, themes and variations to keep you entertained for it’s 5 and a half minute running time. Green Man’s sound is somewhere between Afro Celt Sound System and Massive Attack. And like Afro Celt, their music defies classification. Equal parts world and electronic, they have an artistic vision and sound that is broad and yet still accessible, which is no easy feat. So check out Green Man for their true blending of genres. In the meantime, I’m off to work on my phonics.
